To get the best cooking experience from your pure titanium pan, it’s important to season it before first use.
Unlike pans with artificial coatings, titanium builds its own naturally non-stick surface — all it takes is a little oil and heat. Seasoning not only helps prevent food from sticking, but also enhances durability and improves performance over time.
The good news? It only takes a few minutes, and your pan gets better every time you use it.
Follow the steps below to activate that smooth, non-stick surface from day one.
🔎 Step-by-step guide:
Step 1: Clean the pan
Wash the pan with warm water and a drop of mild dish soap to remove any possible factory residue.
Dry thoroughly with a towel. The pan must be completely dry before seasoning.
Step 2: Apply a thin layer of oil
- Add 3–5 drops of oil to the center of the pan.
- Use a paper towel or cloth to spread it evenly across the entire cooking surface.
- Wipe off any excess — you want a very thin, almost invisible coating. (Too much oil can create sticky residue instead of seasoning.)
Step 3: Heat it up
There are two easy methods:
🔥 Method A — On the stovetop (quick & easy):
- Place the pan on medium heat.
- Let it heat for 4–6 minutes, or until you see a faint darkening or a bit of smoke (totally normal).
- Remove from heat and let cool completely.
🔥 Method B — In the oven (more even):
- Preheat your oven to 230°C (450°F).
- Place the oiled pan upside down (with a tray underneath to catch drips).
- Bake for 30–45 minutes.
- Turn off the oven and let the pan cool inside.
Step 4: Wipe & store
Once cool, gently wipe off any remaining oil with a clean cloth and store your pan.
🔁 How often should you season it?
- Once before first use is a must.
- Re-season every few months or if you notice sticking.
- The more you cook with oil, the more seasoned it becomes — your pan improves with use.
🧽 Bonus care tips for non-stick performance
- Always preheat the pan before adding food (even just 30 seconds on medium heat).
- Avoid sprays or low-quality oils that can leave residue.
- Don’t use metal scrubbers — soft sponges only.
- Wash with just warm water most of the time; soap occasionally.
